About Us

The Vision

It is the vision of the Midwest Martial Arts League to create an environment that supports and promotes the martial arts in all its variations and styles recognizing the differences and commonalities that enhance our understanding of our communal heritage, history, and future.

The Mission

The mission of the Midwest Martial Arts League is to promote traditional values, traditional training, and build strong, lasting relationships with associated schools, instructors, and students in a non-political and supportive environment.

The Goals

  • To stimulate interest and growth in the martial arts.
  • To establish and maintain relations with affiliated schools and other recognized martial arts organizations.
  • To encourage all MMAL instructors and members to contribute their time and talents to the organization, their schools, and to their communities.
  • To establish standardized testing and promotions for individual styles taught within the MMAL.
  • To welcome all students of the martial arts who are interested in challenging themselves, their preconceptions, and becoming better martial artists.
  • To offer schools, instructors, and students the opportunity to better themselves, advance in the arts, and become part of a larger martial art family working together towards a common goal.
  • Offer official rank, instructor, and competition official certification to members through ranked MMAL member instructors and/or assist in the referral of members wishing to test in an art not taught by an MMAL affiliated instructor.
  • To offer affordable membership, charter, and certification fees.
  • To offer members training aids and materials to help educate them.
  • To provide fair, educational seminars and tournaments that encourage personal development within the martial arts.
